President – Asian Youth Council

H.E MR. Hun Many

Mr. HUN Many is the actual President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), the long-served youth organisation focusing on social, humanitarian activities and community service, dated back since 1978. He has attained leadership role of the Youth Association of Cambodia (the predecessor of UYFC) in 2011 as Deputy President. He has been elected to the position of the President to the newly renamed Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia in 2012.

UYFC, a non-profit oriented organization, has been active in many programmes in which youth engagement is at its core. It includes humanity, society, culture, education and eco-friendly conduct and campaign as well as advocacy for national and regional peace and stability. To name a few, UYFC’s activities range from nationwide campaign of blood donation, “Anti-Cervical Cancer”, “Youth and Clean City”, helmet and road safety, to education and sport promotion such as scholarship provision and “Soccer League”, culture-based “Angkor Sankranta” event to promote national harmony, to regional advocacy for peace and stability with the organization and networking of Asian Youth Forum.

Mr. Many holds two Master degrees, one in International Relations from Melbourne University and another in Strategy Security studies, focusing in counter-terrorism from the National Defence University, Washington D.C. He previously graduated in political science from Hofstra University, Long Island, New York. Since 2013, HUN Many has been elected as member of the National Assembly, the lower house of Cambodia legislative body. Prior to the above, Mr. Many had experience working as a member of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet from 2008 to 2011.
