Mr. Earl Pioquinto Saavedra (Philippines)
Earl Pioquinto Saavedra is from the Philippines. He was born and raised in Mindanao. He has a family background known for honest and dedicated track record on good governance. He is an Educator by profession.
His formal entry in the government commenced when he was made Executive Assistant to the Minister of Social Welfare and Development on August 2010 with the concurrent capacity as Advisor for Street Families and Children.
He was a recipient of awards and citations such as the Jose Rizal (the Philippine National Hero) Outstanding Youth Awardee for Mindanao, Presidential Citation for Leadership and Campus Journalism and the renowned Gerry Roxas Leadership Award for the Youth.
The President of the Republic of the Philippines first appointed him as Commissioner of the National Youth Commission last January 28, 2011. Subsequently, he got reappointed to the same position last May 5, 2014. He now marks his fifth year of service in the institution.
At the National Youth Commission of the Philippines, he chairs the Committee on International Affairs that handles all youth exchange and exposure programs offered for the members of the youth sector. The structure is also in charge of the youth focal point in preparation for the Philippines’ Chairmanship of ASEAN by 2017.
Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III also appointed him as the youngest Board Member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) which oversees the mainstream media platforms in the Philippines.
This young Mindanawon also sits as Alternate Board Member of the Dangerous Drugs Board, the ASEAN Socio Cultural Committee, the Committee for ASEAN Youth Cooperation and the ASEAN Matters Technical Board.
